Making and Keeping Friends and/or Managing Conflict and Rejection. 

PEERS® for Adolescents

PEERS® for Adolescents is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens in middle and high school (13-18) interested in the goal of “Making and Keeping Friends and/or Managing Conflict and Rejection.” Most children who attend have one or more of the following:
  • Social/behavioral challenges
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • ADHD
  • Social pragmatic communication disorder

How it Works

Developing Social Skills

attend 16-weekly group sessions for 90 minutes per week:

Teens (in one group) are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations; they practice these skills during group socialization activities.

Parents (in another group) attend sessions simultaneously and are taught how to provide the right support to their teens in making and keeping friends. Parent participation is required.

A minimum of 7 participants is required, with a maximum of 10.

  • Entering and exiting conversations

  • Electronic communication

  • Using humor appropriately

Conflict resolution

  • Being a “good sport”
  • Handling disagreements
  • Handling teasing and bullying

Nurturing Friendships

  • Organizing get-togethers
  • Encouragement, loyalty and trust

Complete and return your enrollment packet.

Schedule an up to 1.5-hour intake appointment with one of our clinicians to determine if our program is appropriate for you and your teen.

When do groups meet?

Days: Wednesdays

Terms: 16 weeks

Frequency: Session start at: 4:30 to 6:00 pm
